Psalms 82:6 Display Chapter and Footnotes   6 I have said, "You are gods; and you are children of the most High."1 |
1 I have said, "You are gods; and you are children of the most High." When the Pharisees were accusing Jesus of blasphemy because Jesus had said he was the son of God, he said: "Is it not written in your law, 'I have said, You are gods'? So he called them gods, men to whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; and I, whom the Father has sanctified and sent into the world, am accused by you, saying to me, 'You blaspheme;' because I said, I am the Son of God?"
All men are precious in God's sight. All men will eventually repent from their evils and turn to God for his merciful purification. All men will eventually be reconciled to God in purity. This reconciliation takes place on earth, through the inward cross of self-denial, with the kindness and love of God to encourage and help you; or it takes place in Hell with great pain and great loss.
