Psalms 19 Previous Chapter | Next Chapter 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the skies proclaim his handiwork. 2 Day after day they utter speech, and night after night they show knowledge. 3 They have no speech or language, no sound is heard from them. 4 Yet their sound has gone out through all the earth, and their utterances to the end of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun, 5 Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber; rejoicing like a strong man to run his race. 6 Its rising is from one end of the heavens, and makes its circuit to the other end of it; and there is nothing hidden from the heat of it. 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making the simple wise. 8 The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commands of the LORD are pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. 10 They are more to be desired than gold, yes, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover your servant is warned by them; and there is great reward in keeping them. 12 Who can know all his errors [sins]? Cleanse me from secret and hidden [sins]. [The pain of a wound cleanses away evil, so do stripes purge the inward parts [including the heart] of man. Pro 20:30. God disciplines and scourges every son he accepts, Heb 12:6; he who has suffered in the flesh is finished with sin. So that you should not live the rest of your time in the flesh in the lusts of men, but [live] to the will of God. 1 Pet 4:1-2.] 13 Keep your servant also from presumptuous sins; do not let them have dominion over me! Then I shall be upright, and I shall be innocent from great transgression. 14 Then the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart become acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
