|Psalms 45 |
1 My heart overflows with a good theme; I address my verses to the king. My tongue is like the pen of a ready writer.
2 You are fairer than the children of men; grace is poured upon your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever.
3 Gird your sword upon your thigh, O most mighty, in your glory and your majesty.
4 And in your majesty ride victoriously for the cause of truth, humility, and righteousness; let your right hand display terrible [awesome] things.
5 Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; the peoples fall under you.
8 All your garments are fragrant with myrrh, aloes, and cassia; from ivory palaces string instruments make you glad.
9 Kings' daughters are among your honorable women; at your right stands the queen in gold of Ophir.
10 Listen, O daughter, consider and incline your ear; forget your own people and your father's house;
11 So the king will greatly desire your beauty; because he is your Lord, worship him.
12 And the daughter of Tyre will be there with a gift; even the rich among the people will entreat your favor.
13 The king's daughter is all glorious within; her clothing is of wrought gold.
14 She shall be brought to the king in garments of needlework; she shall be brought to you with the virgins, her companions, who follow her.1
15 They shall be brought with gladness and rejoicing; they shall enter into the king's palace.
16 Your sons shall take the place of your fathers, whom you will make princes in all the earth.
17 I will cause your name to be remembered in all generations; therefore the people shall praise you forever and ever.

1 The king's daughter is all glorious within; her clothing is of wrought gold. She shall be brought to the king in garments of needlework; she shall be brought to you with the virgins, her companions, who follow her. David is describing the bride of Christ, the body of his believers who have purified themselves to be all glorious within. These are those sons of God who followed the lamb (obeyed the Voice of Christ) on the earth wherever he went and who were not defiled by women, having been made chaste virgins again by the grace and power of God. These are those whose robes were washed white in the blood of the lamb. But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7.
"Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were wise, and five were foolish. And those who were foolish took their lamps, but took no oil with them. But the wise took oil in their flasks along with their lamps. When the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. And at midnight a cry was made, 'Behold, the bridegroom comes; go out to meet him.' Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; for our lamps have gone out.' But the wise answered, saying, 'No we can't; for fear that there is not enough for us and you; rather you go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.' And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came. And those who were ready went in with him to the marriage; and the door was shut. Mat 25:1-10
"Truly I say to you that unless you turn around [change your conduct] and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Mat 18:3.
