Psalms 62

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

Truly my soul silently waits upon God; from him comes my salvation.1 [David waited upon God in silence, and so should we. Silence is humble; silence enables us to hear his soft voice. We wait on God to attain salvation. “I have waited for your salvation, O LORD.” Gen 49:18. “Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.” Mic 7:7. ““Lo! This is our God, we have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice and be glad in his salvation.” Isa 25:9]

He only is my rock and my salvation, he is my defense, I shall not be greatly moved.

How long will you assault a man so that you may slay him, to throw him down like a leaning wall or a tottering fence?

They consult together to cast him down from his height; they delight in lies. They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

My soul, wait silently upon God; for my expectation is from him.

He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my defense, I shall not be moved.

In God is my salvation and my glory; he is the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.

Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Surely men of low degree are only a breath, and men of high degree are a delusion. If they are weighed on a scale, they are lighter than vapor.

Do not trust in oppression, and vainly hope in robbery; if riches increase, do not set your heart on them.

God has spoken once, twice I have heard this: that power belongs to God.

Also to you belongs mercy, O Lord, for you will reward every man according to his work.
