4 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no one buys their merchandise any more. The merchants are the preachers and priests in Babylon, (masquerading as ministers of righteousness, preaching make-believe Christianity), who have gotten rich charging for their false teachings, charging money, preaching for filthy lucre; the hired hands who speak lies in hypocrisy until their conscience was seared as though with a hot iron. At the time of the beginning of the Protestant Reformation, the Roman sect owned 40% of all the property in Europe. To say that Christendom was rich, is an understatement; Christendom almost owned the whole world, but had lost its soul. Today, Christendom's sects are major stockholders in most exchanges. A single well-known American televangelist, who preaches the gospel of prosperity, in 2008 bragged that he was a billionaire, "walking in that a long time."
