|Revelation 8:1-4 |
1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.1
2 And I saw the seven angels who stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given to him much incense, so that he might offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar that was before the throne.
4 And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
1 There was silence in heaven for about half an hour. Heaven is within your heart. “Be silent, oh all flesh before the Lord.” Zech2:13. Be silent in the presence of the Lord GOD. Zeph 1:7. Be still, and know that I am God. Ps 46:10. The LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him. Hab 2:20. Be not rash with your mouth, and let not your heart be hasty to utter a word before God. Ecc 5:2. It is a struggle to still the mind and heart, which men must do to force their way into the kingdom.
From George Fox's writing on Why Silence:
He that has an ear to hear, let him hear: such as know the seven seals, shall know the silence in heaven. And when I saw the seven seals, there was silence for half an hour in heaven; he that can, read this and understand.
This is George Fox's testimony that the seven seals is a personal experience of the crucified, purified follower of Christ.
