1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.1 [To walk after the Spirit is to be led by the Spirit in thoughts, words, and deeds. If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Gal 5:18. To walk after the flesh is to walk according to your carnal mind and evil heart, before it has been cleansed and purified; until then you are not in Christ Jesus because your are still walking in the flesh — in your lusts, desires, affections, pleasures, pride, anger, vanity, fear, worries, plans, etc. Anyone who claims to be in Christ when they are not crucified is taking His name in vain; or doing anything while stating you do it in His name or in the name of Jesus is also taking His name in vain.]
4 So that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [Until we are walking, thinking, speaking, and acting according to how the Spirit directs us, we have not fulfilled the righteousness of the law; and so we are still subject to the Law of Sin and Death. A man who is prompted and energized by God in what to say and what to do, so that his every action and word is from loving obedience to God; truly such a man loves the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. Deu 6:4-5; such a man fulfills the law and establishes the law, even greatly exceeding the law. From the Word of the Lord within: "Until you witness the law fulfilled in you, you are under the law."]
5 For those who live according to the flesh, aim in satisfying things of the flesh; but those who live after the Spirit, aim to satisfy the things of the Spirit. [Flesh: fulfilling the lusts of the body and flesh, the thoughts of the carnal mind, and the evil imagination vs. Spirit: to think as the Spirit supplies thoughts, to speak only what is heard from the Spirit, and to do only what the Spirit shows you and energizes you to do.]
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. [To be led by the Spirit of God is to hear and obey his word from within your heart ordering all words to be spoken and all your deeds to be done. To be led is to walk in love, fulfilling the law. This only occurs after you have crucified your sinful nature on the inward cross of self-denial to then receive the fruit of the Spirit. If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Gal 5:19. From the Word of the Lord within: "You are a son when Jesus appears in your heart to guide you. A perfect man hears what to do — a time of great joy."]
23 And the city had no need of the sun nor of the moon to shine in it; for the glory of God illuminates it, and the Lamb is its light. [When the daystar arises in your heart, when you walk by the bright light of God, you have no need of the light of the sun or moon.]
24 And the nations shall walk by the light of it; and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it.
|1 John 1:7|
7 But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.3 [To walk in the light is to be guided by God, (who is light), in what to say and do. All men sit in darkness and walk in darkness until the light arises in their hearts. From the Word of the Lord within: "Light comes from faith in the voice." You can be walking in the light and in fellowship, and then through lack of watchfulness have an unintentional slip; but that can be forgiven and cleansed.]
2 And walk in love, as Christ has also loved us and has given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor.
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. [To be in darkness is to still be sinning; to be a child of the light is to have persistently believed in the light and followed the light, who is Christ. To walk in the light is to be guided in what to say and do. All men sit in darkness and walk in darkness until the light arises in their hearts. From the Word of the Lord within: "Walking in the light is to be guided through life by God; walking in darkness is making your own decisions as to what to do and say. Light comes from faith in the voice."]
5 O house of Jacob, come and let us walk in the light of the LORD. [From the Word of the Lord within: "Walking in the light is to be guided through life by God; walking in darkness is making your own decisions as to what to do and say. Light comes from faith in the voice. I am the light of the world; he who follows me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life." Faith in the voice is evidenced by your obedience to what you hear; to follow is to obey what you hear the Lord speak to you as you wait on Him.]
2 The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them has the light shined.1[All men sit in darkness and walk in darkness until their hearts have been purged from the evil that defiles them. From the Word of the Lord within: "First the light arises, then the kingdom. Light comes from faith in the voice."]
12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world [every man]. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the Light of Life."2 [The Light (Christ) is given to every man who comes into the world, John 1:9, so that through the Light, all men might believe, John 1:7; and by abiding in the Light and obeying the Light, receive salvation to become a child of the light, a son of God. To follow Jesus is to obey what He shows and speaks to you by revelation. If you do not keep or obey the words you hear Christ speak to you, those words will be your judge when you die. John 12:47-48. From the Word of the Lord within: "Obedience leads to restoration of life."]
|Galatians 5:16,25 |
16 This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. [For we no longer walk by sight, but by faith. 2 Cor 5:7]
