Zechariah 13

Previous Chapter | Next Chapter

"On that day there shall be a fountain opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.

And it shall come to pass in that day, says the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no longer be remembered; and also I will remove the false prophets and the unclean spirit out of the land.

And it shall come to pass, that when anyone prophesies falsely, then his father and his mother who gave birth to him will say to him, 'You shall not live, for you speak lies in the name of the LORD;' and his father and his mother who gave birth to him shall thrust him through when he prophesies.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the false prophet will be ashamed of his vision when he has prophesied, nor will they wear a rough hair garment to deceive.

But he will say, 'I am no prophet. I am an farmer, for a man sold me as a bond servant in my youth.'

And one will say to him, 'What are these wounds in your hands?' Then he will answer, 'Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.'

Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man who is my companion, says the LORD of hosts; strike the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones.

And it shall come to pass in all the land, says the LORD, that two-thirds shall be cut off and die, but one-third shall be left in it.

And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined and will try them as gold is tried. They will call on my name, and I will hear them. I will say, 'They are my people;' and they will say, 'The LORD is my God.'"
