|Revelation 17:1-6,18:1-14,20 |
1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, "Come here; I will show to you the judgment of the great whore who sits upon many waters;1
2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication."2[The wine of her fornication is the false promise of living in lusts and pride with no consequence of the fury of God. As Paul also predicted: "For the time will come when men will not endure sound doctrine, but they will heap [accumulate in piles] to themselves teachers after their own lusts, who will say what their itching ears want to hear; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and will be turned to fables." 2 Tim 4:3-4. The whole world has been turned to the false-church whore's fables that teach men to live however they please, with no fear of God, and to ignore all laws, the requirements of holiness, and the necessities of repentance — being drunk on the sweet wine of the whore's assurances that they are greatly favored by God and on their way to heaven, despite their indulgences in sin.]
3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet colored beast, full of many names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.3
4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.
5 And upon her forehead was a name written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.4
6 And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus; and when I saw her, I wondered with great amazement.5
1 Then after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, "Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of demons, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hateful bird. [From the Word of the Lord within: "Just like Judaism was taken over by the enemy, so has Christianity, which is corrupt through and through. There is no church in the world that Christ set up specifically. Like Daniel, you are captive of the Chaldeans. Your place of worship is filled with unclean birds." Unclean birds are demons. ]
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich through the abundance of her delicacies."1
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her, my people, so that you do not share in her sins, and so you will not receive her plagues.2 [Some of God's people are still in Christendom Babylon; God is pleading with his elect to leave the false church. Arise and depart, for this is not the rest. Because it is defiled, it shall destroy you, even with a grievous destruction. Micah 2:10]
5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
6 Reward her even as she done to you, and repay her double according to her works; mix a double portion in the cup that she has filled for others.
7 As much as she has glorified herself and lived deliciously, give her so much torment and sorrow; for she said in her heart, 'I sit as a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.'3
8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day: death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire. For the Lord God who judges her, is strong.
9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning,
10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, 'Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.'
11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no one buys their merchandise any more.4
12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all scented wood, and all manner of vessels of ivory, and vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
13 And cinnamon, and odors, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and the souls of men! [Yes, the false church, which owned 40% of all land in Europe in 1400 AD, was a great merchant power in goods; but they also sold salvation, sold forgiveness, sold heaven, sold escape from purgatory — at least to the ignorant. The intelligent were executed: 9,000,000 executed between 900 and 1400 AD. Today, Christendom's sects are major stockholders in most exchanges.]
14 The fruits that your soul lusted after have departed from you, and all the things that were rich and splendid have departed from you, and you shall find them no more.
20 Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets; for God has avenged you on her.'"
