|Titus 1:6-9 |
An elder must be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children who are not open to accusation of being unruly or disorderly.
Since he [an elder] is the steward of God, he must be blameless; not self willed, not easily angered, or given to drink, not violent, or greedy for filthy lucre [money];
But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
Holding fast to the faithful word as he has been taught, so that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convince those who contradict it [the faithful word].
